Sarah Grimes has been musical director of the Phoenix Male Voice Choir since its formation in 2010. She graduated from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in 2000 with a BA (Hons) in Music and completed her Masters Degree in Arts Management at Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge.
Sarah works as Stewardship Officer in the Development and Campaigns team at the University of East Anglia, looking after major donors. She previously worked at Norwich Theatre Royal as a Box Office Assistant, as Friends Secretary and as Fundraising Administrator for the £10 Million theatre modernisation appeal.
In August 2002, she was Musical Director for an amateur production of West Side Story by Stalham Players and Assistant Musical Director / Rehearsal Pianist for a production of Cabaret by Norfolk Youth Music Theatre in November 2002. For the several years to 2011, Sarah was Musical Director for Horning Amateur Theatrical Society, during which time she was involved with seven pantomimes, productions of South Pacific, My Fair Lady, an 'End of the Pier' Show, and a production of The King and I produced and directed from the piano.
In 2010, Sarah joined Norwich's Phoenix Male Voice Choir as its founding Musical Director and we are delighted she is still at the helm today!
She is married and has two children.
