We are saying our fond farewell to our singing colleague, Tenor 1 Fred Lake. His unexpected passing is still beyond our day-to-day belief and the thoughts of everyone associated with Norwich's Phoenix Male Voice Choir remain with his immediate family and friends for whom those feelings are all the more intense at this very sad moment.

We have been deeply privileged by his family to be asked to sing at his service and we accept with humility, but with solemn pride to thank Fred for his unwavering support of our Choir and to honour his memory as part of our heartfelt tribute to one of our own.

Meanwhile, we have substituted the banners on the Choir's Twitter account @PhoenixMVC (http://www.twitter.com/PhoenixMVC) which now reflect one of the messages in music we will remember him by, and a cameo picture of the Fred we knew and remember as our Singing Friend.

We can always sing our hearts out and let our voices be heard. We can sing from the bottom of our hearts, singing with feelings is the most important thing that we can do because it will give us the power to express ourselves. The power that we hold is limitless if we will just look at the possibility. Let us continue to be the role model for the next generation. It will be a great time for us to be happy and we can always do what is necessary to have a meaningful life.
